TRINITY COLLEGE SINGING

We are delighted that Act II Theatre Company has been named as a Trinity Champion Centre 2022/23 for our successful delivery of Trinity qualifications in music and drama. This is for the second year running! Trinity College London is a leading international exam board and independent education charity that specialises in the assessment of communicative and performance skills covering music, drama, combined arts and English language. Trinity Champion Centres inspire other organisations by sharing their practice and advocating for accreditation in their communities and more widely. |
Our singing classes are a great compliment to Choir, Music Theatre and Mini Musical. Develop your voice in hour-long sessions with a maximum of 6 people per class (or 1-to-1 lessons for grades 6-8), while working towards exams. At Act II we believe that singers should have a good understanding of musical knowledge and so all of our singing students learn musical theory, working towards Trinity College London exams (up to grade 5) as a compliment to their singing.
Exams are taken digitally: we film the student's exam and send it off to be marked. This is done at weekends.
Theory exams may be taken in May and November, and take place on Saturdays.
Act II provides an exam accompanist. We are very lucky that our pianist: Peter Graper, plays completely FREE OF CHARGE! Exam fees are set by Trinity College London and Act II do not add any further cost on top of this. Fees for singing exams currently begin at £51.00 for initial grade, with grade 8 costing £123.00. Fees for Theory exams currently begin at £39.00 for grade 1, with grade 5 costing £52.00.
Grade 6 and above carry UCAS points: evidence of the exams as a highly regarded and recognised qualification.
